SPCA Fur Babies of the Week: Meet Nova and Garbot

Meet Nova, a 2-year-old, chocolate-brown tabby Bengal mix girl with light, greenish-grey eyes. Her striped fur coat is very soft and has distinctive markings from head to tail. She is a beautiful girl with a sweet personality! Nova is very friendly, gentle and laid-back. She loves petting, especially on her face, chin and ears – she’ll even lean in for more! She is observant and curious; and enjoys climbing and lounging in cat trees, where she can watch the world around her through the window. Her owner surrendered her to the SPCA of Texas on September 2 because she was afraid of the child in the home. Because she’s shy around small children, she will do best in a quiet home without little kids.  Nova has been spayed, tested for FIV/FeLV (she’s negative), microchipped and has received age-appropriate vaccinations. She will make a great companion and will be happy share all of her with love you! Visit her today, and you can become BFFF- Best Furry Friends Forever! #142943

Meet Garbot, pronounced just like the actress, Greta Garbo! She’s just as gorgeous, too! Garbot is a friendly, 1.5-year-old, brindle Labrador Retriever/Boxer mix weighing 54 pounds. She was surrendered to the SPCA of Texas on September 25 because her previous owner found her and could not keep her. She is super sweet and loves to be outside, where she can run and play to her heart’s content. She also enjoys going for walks, and she is great on the leash. If you’re looking for a running partner, she’s got you covered! Garbot is very affectionate, loves attention from people and being petted all over. She can be a little shy at first; but once she warms up to you she’ll give you all of her love. In her previous home, she got along with other dogs and kids, but has never been around cats. She would make a great family dog, offering plenty of love and playtime to go around. You can even bring your current, vaccinated pets to the shelter to do a “meet and greet” with her to make sure they get along before you take her home! Garbot has been spayed, microchipped and received her age-appropriate vaccinations. She has also been dewormed and has received flea/tick preventatives. What more could you ask for? Come and meet this lovely lady today! You won’t want to go home without her! #143305
