McKinney Boyd appears to be unbeatable in District 10-5A softball this season. The Lady Broncos have improved to 9-0 after defeating Rowlett 5-0 on the road. Rowlett came into the game with a 7-1 record and only one game behind Boyd for first place, but know the Lady Broncos have all but sealed up a district championship with five games left. Erin Riding was the winning pitcher for Boyd, while Sam Stockford and Jill Nicklas doubled and tripled respectfully. The Lady Broncos travel to Naaman Forest on Thursday for a 4:00 p.m. matchup.
McKinney High blew out last place Rockwall-Heath 15-0 at home on Wednesday night to move its record in District 10-4A to 6-3. Chelsea Thomas was the winning pitcher for the Lionettes, and Courtney Derrick doubled in the ballgame for MHS. The Lionettes kept pace in third place with the win, still chasing crosstown rival North, Rockwall, and Wylie. MHS hosts Rockwall in a huge district ballgame Thursday night at 7:00 p.m.
McKinney North moved to 7-2 in District 10-4A with a huge 10-2 win at Richardson Pearce on Wednesday night. No stats were recorded from the game. The win creates a three-way tie between North, Wylie, and Rockwall for the lead in 10-4A. The Lady Bulldogs should get a break when they travel to last place Rockwall-Heath on Thursday night. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
