McKinney North needed just 58 minutes to dispatch of Highland Park on Friday, blanking the Scots, 15-0, in a three-inning affair at North.
The Bulldogs (13-9-1, 9-3) pushed across 10 runs in the second inning, taking advantage of big hits, a shaky Highland Park defense, and a handful of passed balls and wild pitches. North starter Celeste Verdolivo gave up two soft hits in the game, but she struck out nine and walked only one.
Sophomore Bailey Florence led the Bulldogs’ 11-hit attack with a triple and two RBI. Raven Guitierrez, Verdolivo, and McAllister also had triples for North. Emily Orr, the starter for the Scots (10-20, 3-9), suffered through five wild pitches and a hit batsman.
The Bulldogs finish the regular season with a pair of critical games. They travel to first-place Rockwall (11-1) on Tuesday and host second-place Wylie (10-2) on Friday.
