Soccer Scoreboard: Weekend Tournaments Continue

Friday saw a full lineup of soccer matches involving area teams in tournament play.


McKinney Boyd 4, Highland Park 0: The Broncos blanked HP at the Coppell Kickoff Classic. Grayson Mcmurry scored two goals, while Ben Gupton and Ryan Trayner scored one apiece.

McKinney Boyd 1, Plano 1: The Broncos are 1-0-2 after Friday’s tie. Raul Serrano scored the Broncos’ goal.

McKinney North 2, Dumas 1: The Bulldogs (2-1) won at the Dr. Pink Invitational in Frisco. Juan Grimaldo and Johnson Jones each scored goals.

McKinney North 3, Frisco Liberty 2: Earlier in the day, the Bulldogs beat Liberty behind two goals by Jacob Diaz and one by Erick Nickason.

McKinney High 3, North Dallas 2: The Lions improved to 2-0 after getting two goals from JT Hawkins and one from Ryan Applewhite in the Dr. Pink Invitational.

Frisco Centennial 2, McKinney High 0: The Lions (2-1) lost a tough one Friday evening.


McKinney Boyd 2, Humble Kingwood 0: Hailey Hunt and Elizabeth Murphy scored goals as Boyd improved to 2-0 on the young season at the National Elite Prep Showcase at Ft. Worth Nolan.

McKinney North 2, Burleson 0: After losing its opener in the Dr. Pink Invitational 2-0 to Denton Ryan on Thursday, the Lady Dawgs looked much better in shutting out Burleson. 

Frisco Centennial 2, McKinney North 1: Micaela Mendiola scored North’s lone goal.

McKinney High 1, Frisco Liberty 1: The Lionettes (0-1-1) tied their first game of the day Friday.
