McKinney Boyd beat Rowlett 5-0 at Ron Poe Stadium on Tuesday to clinch the championship in District 10-5A. Sewell Yost recorded a hat trick with three goals. Boyd is 12-1 in District 10-5A going into the final game of the regular season on Friday, March 23, at home against South Garland. Rowlett, the second place team, fell to 8-3 in the district.
McKinney High, which had already clinched the District 17-4A championship, improved to 11-0 in district with only one game remaining Tuesday night with a 15-0 victory over Anna. Derrick Horvath scored three goals to lead the Lions. MHS travels to Little Elm on Friday, March 23, for its final regular season match. The 4A playoffs begain late next week.
