Saturday wrapped up an exciting weekend for all six MISD soccer teams, as the McKinney High girls took the Silver Championship at the Frisco ISD Dr. Pink Invitational by defeating Frisco 2-1 in a shootout. Below are recaps of each match:
The Broncos (3-1-0) lost to Southlake Carroll 1-0 in a shootout in the championship match of the Richland Winter Blast Tournament. It was the lone loss in the tournament for the Elite Soccer Report’s No. 4 team in the state.
Boyd will be back in action on Tuesday night when the Broncos host Mount Pleasant, beginning at 7:45 p.m. The match will be at the Boyd Main Field.
The Lady Broncos (3-1-0) defeated Keller 1-0 on Saturday to conclude the Fort Worth National Elite Prep Showcase.
Elizabeth Murphy had the lone goal in the match for the Lady Broncos.
Boyd will host Rowlett at Ron Poe Stadium on Tuesday night, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
The Lions (2-1-1) tied El Paso El Dorado 0-0 in the consolation game at the Frisco ISD Dr. Pink Invitational.
McKinney will travel up Highway 75 and visit McKinney North on Friday night, beginning at 7:15 p.m.
The Lionettes (4-0-0) won the Silver Championship of the Frisco ISD Dr. Pink Invitational on Saturday afternoon, defeating Frisco 2-1 in a shootout at FC Dallas Stadium.
Senior Nathalie Throneberry scored in the final four minutes of the match to tie the game at 1-1, and the Lionettes won the match in penalty kicks. Lauren Neely and Tony Badali each had goals for McKinney.
McKinney will resume play on Tuesday night when the Lionettes host Richardson at the MHS Auxiliary Field, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
The Bulldogs (0-4-0) lost 2-0 versus Amarillo Palo Duro in the final game of the Frisco ISD Dr. Pink Invitational.
North will return to action on Friday night when the Bulldogs host McKinney High, beginning at 7:15 p.m.
The Lady Bulldogs (2-0-2) tied Midlothian 1-1 in the final game of the Frisco ISD Dr. Pink Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
Belicia Mendiola scored the lone goal in the match for North, assisted by Micaela Mendiola. The Lady Bulldogs scored eight goals in the tournament and only allowed two.
North returns to the field on Friday night when the Lady Bulldogs travel to Little Elm, beginning at 7:15 p.m.
