As district play begins to heat up for all six MISD soccer programs, Boyd and MHS played its final districts matches before the boys and girls teams meet up on Tuesday night for a little crosstown rivalry soccer. Below are full recaps and scores from Friday’s action on the pitch:
McKinney Boyd Boys:
The Broncos (4-0-0, 12-5-1) defeated Plano East 2-1 on the road Friday night in District 10-5A play.
Juan Moran and Sewell Yost scored the goals in the match for Boyd. Derek Thompson had the lone goal for Plano East.
Boyd will host crosstown rival McKinney (1-0-3, 10-2-4) on Tuesday night, beginning at 7:15 p.m.
McKinney Boyd Girls:
Sydnie Dolzine, Hailey Jordon, and Anna Scales scored in the match for Boyd.
Boyd travels to crosstown rival McKinney (2-2-0) on Tuesday night, beginning at 7:15 p.m.

McKinney High Boys:
The Lions (1-0-3, 10-2-4) tied Allen 0-0 at home Friday night in 10-5A action. McKinney stayed in second place in district with five points after the tie.
This was the third district shutout for MHS and its 11th of the season. Head coach Alan Pocock said that the Lions “are creating buckets of scoring chances,” and that it should give his team plenty of confidence heading into the matchup with Boyd on Tuesday night.
McKinney High Girls:
The Lionettes (2-2-0, 10-3-0) lost 1-0 at Allen in 10-5A play on Friday night.
Chloe Fowler had the lone goal in the match for the Lady Eagles.
McKinney will host Boyd (2-1-1, 10-2-4) on Tuesday night, beginning at 7:15 p.m.
McKinney North Boys:
The Bulldogs (3-1-0, 6-8-0) defeated Anna 6-0 in 17-4A play on Friday night.
Morgan Dizney scored three goals for North while Scott Bell added two goals as well. Justin Adler also kicked in one goal.
North will travel to Denison (1-3-0) next Friday night, beginning at 7:15 p.m.
McKinney North Girls:
The Lady Bulldogs (4-0-0, 12-1-3) topped Anna 8-0 on Friday night in District 17-4A action.
Micaela Mendiola scored three goals in the match while Sabrina Martineau and Mary Watson both had two goals. Mallory Winburn added one goal in the match as well.
North will host Denison next Friday, beginning at 7:15 p.m.
