Mabel Simpson, longtime Richardson resident and community leader announced today that she is suspending her campaign for State Representative for House District 67 and has chosen to endorse Jeff Leach as the next State Representative for the district.
In her statement, Simpson said, “My decision to run was triggered as a result of seeing a need for change,’ Simpson said. “I was confident I could make a difference based upon my experience running my own business as an attorney for 24 years. I believe there is too much government and regulation in Texas. We need accountability and transparency in all spending, including all agencies. The lack of accountability within the duplicative agencies in our state government, and the resulting rules and laws, has created a very difficult environment for Texas businesses. We need a strong leader to identify better utilization of tax dollars in Texas without more regulation. Balanced legislation regarding property rights, development and transportation for our District and Texas can grow our economy.”
“I have enjoyed the opportunity to meet with voters and debate the important issues facing Texas,” Simpson said. “I have chosen to support Jeff Leach as he has integrity and the tenacity to be effective in Austin representing District 67. During my time on the campaign trail I got to know Jeff Leach. Jeff understands Texas government, Jeff is conservative and most importantly Jeff has the ability to deliver results on behalf of our District. I am confident Jeff Leach will effectively represent Collin County very well. He is the candidate for this race, and I am proud to endorse and support his campaign and encourage the people in District 67 to do the same.”
In response Jeff Leach said, “It has been a joy to get to know Mabel Simpson throughout the course of this campaign. I have tremendous respect and admiration for her and her campaign and am honored to receive her endorsement and have her support.”
Mabel Simpson has practiced law for over 24 years as the owner of Simpson Law, and also owns and operates a Title Company in Richardson.
