Local businessman and civic leader Randy Pogue has picked up a pivotal endorsement from Collin County Sheriff Terry Box. Box, who hass served in this role since 1985, threw his support behind Pogue early this week, citing Pogue’s “private sector experience, business acumen and dynamic vision” for the City of McKinney.
“For me, it’s about experience and vision, and who has the right combination of those two to keep McKinney moving forward,” says Box. “We need trusted, independent leadership and experience. Randy will be a strong addition to our City Council and I endorse him.”
Pogue said: “It’s a real honor to have the backing of Sheriff Box, who is a highly respected leader in law enforcement. Knowing that I have his support and commitment is a tremendous boost. We have a terrific working relationship. I greatly appreciate his support.”
Pogue has spent much of his campaign discussing with McKinney residents and civic leaders his plans for improving the city’s commercial tax base through strategic economic development, transportation issues, long range planning to prepare for McKinney’s continued growth and preservation of the quality of life initiatives which have contributed to Money Magazine ranking McKinney as the No. 2 Best Place to Live in America.
Pogue is actively promoting his vision and agenda to the residents of McKinney preparing for the May 11 election.
