Dallas-based Consilient Restaurants will open a second branch of its Henderson Avenue restaurant The Porch near the Shops at Willow Bend in 2012, said Consilient founder Tristan Simon.
“That is in fact the case,” Simon said. “We’ll be doing a 6,000-square-foot free-standing Porch in front of the Shops at Willow Bend. [Taubman, Willow Bend owner] is redeveloping the eastern face of the mall, the side that faces the Tollway, and creating a new primary entrance to the mall. They’re going to knock down the former Saks Fifth Avenue, and there’ll be two free-standing restaurants flanking the plaza in front of that entrance.”
As part of the mall’s redevelopment, they’ve already opened a new free-standing next-generation Crate & Barrel, and Restoration Hardware is building a store there, as well.
“From my perspective, we wanted to put The Porch in Plano, and the opportunity to put a free-standing location with tons of parking right off the Tollway was irresistible,” Simon said. Construction will start at the beginning of 2012 with an opening planned in the summer.
