Ruiz and Branch Continue on in District 4 Council Race

June 13 is the day McKinney voters will decide between Chuck Branch and Pablo Ruiz for the District 4 City Council seat. In last night’s election Branch gained 661 votes (38.16% of total) while Ruiz earned 393 (22.69%) pitting them against each other for the run-off election.

Early voting will be June 1-9.

Of the seven candidates only two will be on the final run-off election ballot. The five candidates that will not be continuing gained votes as follows: 

  • David Joseph Weaver earned 20 votes or 1.15 percent of the total
  • Robert DeMarco earned 30 votes or 1.73 percent of the total
  • Steven Spainhouer earned 29 votes or 1.67 percent of the total
  • Ty Lake earned 218 votes or 12.59 percent of the total
  • Angie Bado earned 381 votes or 22 percent of the total
