By Matthew Bado, TSB Staff

McKinney native Mary Killman and her partner, Mariya Koroleva, finished the first qualifying round of the synchronized swimming duet competition in 10th place on Sunday. The judges gave Killman and Koroleva a score of 87.900 on their technical routine.

The duet must remain in the top 12 after tomorrow’s free routine to advance to the finals on Tuesday. The scores from the technical and free routines will be combined to determine Tuesday’s final 12.  From there, they compete for an Olympic medal.
