David Allen Russell was arrested Thursday, on his 43rd birthday, for the fourth time with sexual assault charges that involve his patients.
Prosecutors argued that his bond set earlier in the month shouldn’t have been reduced. During this hearing a detective said 16 people have come forward with accusations against Russell, a McKinney chiropractor, after two did so originally.
Russell’s attorney, Todd Shapiro, told The Dallas Morning News that his client maintains his innocence “in every aspect” and will fight the charges.
Russell is charged with one count of aggravated sexual assault of a child and one count of sexual assault of a child. He also faces two counts of sexual assault involving adults.
The Texas Board of Chiropractic Examiners suspended Russell’s license in November with the charges pending.
