McKinney High and McKinney Boyd were both placed in District 10-5A along with the four biggest schools in the state — Allen, Plano High, Plano East and Plano West — when the UIL announced its latest realignment plans a week ago.
According to The Dallas Morning News, both MHS and Boyd are appealing their assignments. Both schools have much smaller enrollments than their four district partners. The appeals will be heard Monday in Austin. Twelve schools in Texas are appealing their assignments.
The story states that MHS and Boyd have asked to be moved into District 11-5A, which has five Garland schools, Rowlett and Sachse.
