State Representative Scott Sanford (District 70) introduced legislation Wednesday which would increase transparency in bond elections and further inform voters in the ballot box.
“This legislation will allow voters to view current levels of debt and cash on hand for governmental entities proposing bond initiatives. Transparency is vital to keeping government honest. As a shepherd of taxpayer dollars, I will do everything in my power to inform Texans on where their funds are going, and how much money is being put into our governments hands. Our State’s due diligence has created the most robust economy in the Nation, and this legislation aims to further our strength,” stated Rep. Sanford.
“Our children and grandchildren deserve futures with opportunity and prosperity – they should not be stuck with excessive bills to pay from government spending run wild. I know this legislation will provide safeguards to defend Texan’s futures,” continued Rep. Sanford.
