House Concurrent Resolution 63 by Representative Scott Sanford passed the House Select Committee on Federalism and Fiscal Responsibility on Wednesday. This resolution asserts Texas’ sovereignty under the 10th Amendment and demands an end to infringements on our 2nd Amendment rights by the federal government.
“I am proud the Committee passed this concurrent resolution. With this legislation, Texas sends a clear message to the federal government — we will not give up our rights to protect our families, homes, and businesses,” stated Rep. Sanford.
“The prolonged actions by our federal government and President undermine the spirit of the federalist system created by our Nation’s founders and violate our 10th Amendment. I will continue to do everything in my power to defend Texans’ rights against this persistent overreach.”
Rep. Sanford is a life-long Texan, represents House District 70, and serves on the Human Services Committee and the Urban Affairs Committee. He earned two business degrees from Baylor University and maintains a CPA license in the State of Texas. Sanford currently serves as Executive Pastor for Cottonwood Creek Baptist Church. He stands for liberty, conservative principles, and limited government.
