Earning a bachelor’s degree can open up a world of opportunities, and the majority of students at Collin College enroll with the goal of transferring to a four-year institution. Aware of this opportunity, Collin College’s University Partnerships and Destination College programs will offer a transfer workshop in conjunction with its pre-admission partners from 6-8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 28 at the Spring Creek Campus Conference Center in Plano (2800 E. Spring Creek Pkwy).
Representatives from each of Collin College’s pre-admission partners, including Austin College, Baylor University, Dallas Baptist University, Southern Methodist University, Texas A&M – College Station, Texas A&M – Commerce, Texas Tech University, Texas Woman’s University, the University of Texas at Dallas and University of North Texas will provide attendees information about their school, application process, financial aid, scholarships and best ways to prepare.
Students and parents will also have the opportunity to meet with university partners during individual breakout sessions. Information tables will be available for browsing from 6-6:30 p.m., with welcome remarks and breakout sessions following.
Brooke Ingersoll, Destination College coordinator, said this session will provide an ample opportunity for students to get their questions answered straight from the source.
“Whether you are planning to come to Collin and then transfer to one of our partner institutions, or if you plan to go straight to one of those institutions out of high school, there will be information for everyone,” Ingersoll said.
While this event is free to attend, registration is required. The RSVP deadline is Feb. 21. To register, visit www.collin.edu/destinationcollege. For questions, call 972.377.1772.
