By Stuart J. Pearlman, TSB Staff
I first met Marcus Elliott three or four years ago, when we worked together in the newspaper world. He seemed like a nice fellow who enjoyed reporting about sports in McKinney, Anna and Melissa. What I learned about Marcus was his passion for helping people, particularly kids who are struggling with the pressures not unfamiliar to most of us growing up.
Today Marcus still covers sports in Anna and Melissa, but this is simply an extension of his greater calling as a youth pastor. Getting out to sporting events helps him stay in touch with the kids who seem to gravitate to the kind of friendship, guidance and counsel Marcus provides.
Marcus and I chatted a few weeks ago at Denny’s in McKinney and here is what Marcus had to share.
Stuart J’s Lens provides the opportunity to get to know some of the more interesting people and personalities in and around McKinney. If you think you have a story to tell, or know someone that does, send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and tell me all about it.
