The 3rd Annual Red Hot Road Rally is planned for August 24 with funds raised to benefit the Children and Community Health Center.
Darla Theis, ride director, is excited about this year’s motorcycle ride with its many changes. The ride will be 60-plus miles through northern Collin County, beginning at the Wysong Campus of Medical Center of McKinney (120 S. Central Expressway at Virginia), home to the Children and Community Health Center. The ride will end at the Collin County Regional Airport with BBQ from Hutchins and Packin’ Heat team.
Volunteers from the Medical Reserve Corps will provide a First Aid and cooling tent. The Morning Maniacs and Kool Kings will display their classic cars and trucks at the airport with vendors and a raffle that includes hotel stays at Courtyard Mariott in Allen and Hyatt Regency North Dallas among many other gift cards and items.
All riders register between 8:30-9:45 a.m with “Kick-Stands Up” at 10 a.m. This escorted ride costs $25 per rider and includes the lunch.
The Children and Community Health Center opened in 2004 as a clinic for the indigent population of northern Collin County without health insurance. It is supported by Medical Center of McKinney, Texas Health Allen, Baylor McKinney, LabCorp and many businesses, churches and individuals. While volunteers staff most of the clinic, Nurse Practitioners provide the medical services with volunteer doctors and nurses.
