Public Hearing Monday for Regional Trails Plan

By Brian Bearden, TSB Contributing Writer

Collin County Commissioners will be holding a public hearing on Monday afternoon on the Regional Trail Master Plan.

The County’s trail plan covers biking and hiking trails, plus more trails for riding horses. The commissioners are looking for comments at the 1:30 Monday, May 7 public hearing in the Commissioners Court.

The current plan includes 269 miles of existing and programmed trails to connect parks, lakes and open spaces across Collin County. The plan also makes recommendations for 727 miles of proposed or future trails.

The results of a two-year study by Halff & Associates will be presented along with recommendations by consultants on Monday at 2300 Bloomdale Road.
