Prosper Historical Society Considers Saving Old Willis House

By Brian Bearden, TSB Contributor

The Prosper Historical Society has called an emergency meeting for 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 26 in the Prosper ISD board room at 605 E. 7th Street.

Prosper, Texas, is situated north of Dallas, Frisco and McKinney.

Members will be discussing the feasibility of accepting the gift of the historical Willis house (yellow house on the corner First and Parvin).

The owner has approached the Society to accept the house as a donation with certain stipulations.

“We need all the help and input we can get,” Judy Rucker said. “Please ask your neighbors or other interested citizens. Maybe some of the people who were upset about the Isbell home being destroyed would like to get proactive and help with donations of time and money. We’ll never be able to save the old houses without the city, community and society working together.”
