Prepare For Overnight Closures on US 75 in McKinney

Submitted by the City of McKinney

As part of the ongoing TxDOT project to widen U.S. 75 from the Sam Rayburn Tollway to White Avenue in McKinney, TxDOT continues to work on the Eldorado Parkway bridge.

The next step in the construction is to place the bridge deck panels for the north half of the new bridge. To do this, the following closures are necessary:

Sunday night, February 10, 2013 – tentative date
U.S. 75 SOUTHBOUND FRONTAGE ROAD
Closed at Eldorado Parkway from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
All southbound frontage road traffic will be diverted onto Craig Drive North across Eldorado Parkway to Craig Drive South then back to U.S. 75. Eldorado Parkway over U.S. 75 will remain open.

Monday night, February 11, 2013, and Tuesday night, February 12, 2013 – tentative dates
U.S. 75 NORTHBOUND FRONTAGE ROAD
Closed at Eldorado Parkway from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
All northbound frontage road traffic will be diverted onto Marketplace Drive to Medical Center Drive to Eldorado Parkway to Park Central Drive then back to U.S. 75. Eldorado Parkway over U.S. 75 will remain open.

Sunday night, February 10, 2013, to Thursday night, February 14, 2013 – tentative dates
U.S. 75 MAIN LANES
Only one lane closed at a time in each direction at Eldorado Parkway from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Only one lane in each direction will be closed each night. The other lanes will remain open. Traffic will continue to use the open lanes each night while this work takes place. No detours are required. Eldorado Parkway over U.S. 75 will remain open.

All dates are tentative depending upon the weather and other unforeseen circumstances. As a reminder, this TxDOT construction project to widen U.S. 75 to four main lanes in each direction and three frontage road lanes in each direction will provide much needed extra capacity to the roadway. The project is anticipated to be complete in 2015.

Please be safe when traveling through the work zone and always observe traffic warning signs. If you have any questions, please contact Danny Still at (972) 547-7631 or dstill@mckinneytexas.org. Thank you for your cooperation.
