McKinney Police say a child of Mary Beth Merz saw her through the window, lying unconscious on the floor, Wednesday and alerted neighbors, who called 911.
After forced entry at the Mallard Lakes home, officers found Merz, 44, was dead from apparent gunshot wounds. They found her husband, Eric Merz, 42, lying unresponsive in the study. First, they took him to Baylor Medical Center for treatment, where he was in stable condition.
Next they arrested him, charging Eric Merz (pictured) with murder. He was transported to the Collin County Detention Center and bond was set at $150,000.
The additional information about the alleged homocide at 306 Pintail Drive was released by the McKinney Police Department on Thursday.
