TSB’s Oscar Watch: Here’s What to Look For Sunday Evening

Oscar AwardThe box office toppers from 2013 will receive the biggest accolades in American film Sunday night. Heavyweights American Hustle, 12 Years A Slave and Gravity will battle for Best Motion Picture, while Cate Blanchett and Amy Adams will compete for Best Performance by an Actress in A Leading Role. As the Oscars approach, here are my predictions regarding the biggest night in Hollywood:

Best Motion Picture of the Year:
American Hustle
Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role:
Chiwetel Ejiofor for 12 Years a Slave
Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role:
Cate Blanchett for Blue Jasmine
Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role:
Jared Leto for Dallas Buyers Club
Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role:
Jennifer Lawrence for American Hustle
Best Achievement in Directing:
David O. Russell for American Hustle
Best Writing, Screenplay Written Directly for the Screen:
American Hustle: Eric Warren Singer, David O. Russell
Best Writing, Screenplay Based on Material Previously Produced or Published:
12 Years a Slave: John Ridley
Best Animated Feature Film of the Year:
Frozen

This year Ellen DeGeneres will host The Oscars and while she is hilarious, anyone is better than Anne Hathaway and James Franco. The Oscars, or Academy Awards, are a spectacle for the audience and an honor for the filmmakers. So place your bets and tune in to ABC at 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 2!
