For the second consecutive year, the North Texas Tollway Authority has been recognized by the Government Finance Officer Association (GFOA) of the United States and Canada with its Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the NTTA’s 2011 budget.
The award recognizes an organization’s ability to meet the highest principles of governmental budgeting.
“Winning this award two years in a row demonstrates the Authority’s commitment to its budgeting process,” said Janice Davis, NTTA chief financial officer. “It’s also a testament to our ability to maintain and deliver a financially sound and vibrant financial system.”
In order to receive the award, the NTTA satisfied the following nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation: a policy document, a financial plan, an operations guide and a communications device. In each of these categories, the NTTA was rated “proficient.”
The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving more than 17,600 government finance professionals throughout North America. The GFOA’s Distinguished Budget Presentations Awards program is the only national awards program in government budgeting.
