For the second time in several weeks a McKinney football coach has been nominated for coach of the week. This time it was McKinney North’s Mike Fecci, who was nominated for Texas National Guard/Dallas Cowboys coach of the Week award.
Fecci said the nominations was “an extreme honor” but gives all the credit to his players who beat Denison 49-37 last Friday night, securing a postseason berth and share of the 13-4A title.
McKinney Boyd head coach Don Drake was nominated for the same award several weeks ago following Boyd’s 24-23 victory over Plano Senior, capped by a 97-yard touchdowns pass from Curtis Ladd to Dedrick Scrivens.
Voting closes Thursday at 6 p.m., and votes can be cast at http://bit.ly/18S52Qh.
If selected, North will be able to earn a $2,000 grant for the football program.
