North Texas Giving Day to Support the Arts of Collin County, Chestnut Square

The Arts of Collin County will earn matching dollars for every gift donated online during the “GET UP AND GIVE! NORTH TEXAS GIVING DAY” on September 15, 2011, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Donor Bridge is an online giving program hosted by the Communities Foundation of Texas with the support of The Dallas Foundation and the Center for Nonprofit Management. None of these organizations receive any money for overseeing and supporting the North Texas Giving Day.   Participating nonprofit organizations must apply and be approved to be included in the “GET UP AND GIVE!” program.  The matching funds, estimated at $650,000, are provided through the generous contribution and support of many organizations throughout North Texas, including Communities Foundation of Texas, The Meadows Foundation, the Rees-Jones Foundation and The Dallas Foundation. Additional matching funds are still being sought and will be announced as information is available.

It is easy to participate!  On September 15, every donation above $25 will be matched if you donate to ARTS OF COLLIN COUNTY through www.donorbridgetx.org, an online resource to connect donors with nonprofit organizations like us.  Please visit the site anytime between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., search for Arts of Collin County and click “Donate Now.”  Each donor will receive immediate acknowledgement from Communities Foundation of Texas and then the Arts of Collin County after the day’s donations are processed.

Worried you might not get online? If you’re concerned about the busiest times on the site, visit and donate on off-hours, 10-11 a.m. and 2-4 p.m. Again, all donations over $25 donated between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. will be matched by a percentage that will be tied to total donations that day.

Many wonderful organizations participate in this program and it is an opportunity to support multiple agencies so that your dollar will be matched and go further to support a variety of causes.

It doesn’t matter when you give; just remember to Get Up and Give! – Whether you get out of bed, up from your desk, or off your couch, just give!

Chestnut Square Donations, Too!

Chestnut Square in McKinney is proud to participate in this year’s DonorBridge North Texas Giving Day on Thursday, September 15.  Communities Foundation of Texas has raised $1 million to match donations made online to Chestnut Square and other North Texas non-profits through the DonorBridge website from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. (CST) on Thursday, September 15.

This year, donations made to Chestnut Square Historic Village on Texas Giving Day will be designated for restorations to the Dulaney House, Faires House and Two-Bit Taylor Inn.  Please be sure to include the house you would like your donation to go toward in the “gift message” section of your donation.  Donors will be recognized during 2011 and 2012 with signs in front of each house.
