McKinney North’s boys and girls basketball teams continued their hardwood dominance Tuesday with blowout victories over Denison, improving to a combined 26-0 in District 13-4A competition this season.
The Lady Bulldogs won by an incredible 95-19 score to finish the season a perfect 14-0 in District 13-4A. The district champions will begin play in the UIL girls postseason playoffs early next week. But first they demolished an outmanned team that is winless in district play. Mikaehla Connor led the way with 19 points. London Holland added 14 and Chanterria Jackson 12. North led 54-11 at halftime and never looked back.
The Bulldogs won 98-42 over a similarly outmanned Denison team. As a result, North improved to 12-0 in District 13-4A with two regular season games remaining. Steele Douglas led North with 16 points. Four players added 12 apiece: Collin Curran, Jola Otubu, Julian Pearre and Jared Pearre. North led 59-19 at halftime over a Denison squad with only one victory this season.
