New Google Maps App Helps Collin College Students Find Classrooms

CollinCollege-LogoGetting lost on the first day of school is a fear shared by many, from elementary to college students. Now, as a result of a cooperative effort between the Collin College and Google Maps, there really is an app for that.

The Google Maps app will now lead Collin College students directly to their classrooms. The free app details the outdoor and indoor setups of the Preston Ridge, Central Park and Spring Creek Campuses and the Collin Higher Education and Courtyard Centers.

District Vice President of Administration Ralph Hall said the new update on the Google Maps app will provide students and visitors ease in finding their way around each of the college’s properties.

“The maps will now show the location of all classrooms, by number, and all offices by floor,” Hall said. “Students and visitors only need to enter the name and city of the campus in the app.”

The Google Campus Maps were developed for mobile devices, including iPhones, iPads and Androids.
