The new, upcoming national television show, Troubadour TX, will be filming Jon Christopher Davis live at Wales Manor on Saturday. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. with the show starting at 7:30 p.m.
Davis will also be recording a new live CD that night (“JCD Live at Wales Manor”), which will be available on iTunes this fall.
Out of all the venues he could play, JCD chose Wales Manor for the TV shoot and live recording.
“I love McKinney and I love Wales Manor, so there’s nowhere else on Earth I’d rather do this. You can really feel the love of the audience at Wales Manor! It’s truly home to me,” Davis said. It’s my favorite place to play! It’s a great listening venue, as opposed to a noisy bar.”
The concert will open with an acoustic song-swap, featuring other Texas artists that will be featured on Troubadour Texas.
“You won’t find this much talent gathered on one stage, one night, anywhere in the Lone Star State,” said vineyard and winery owner, John “Josey” Wales. “Seats go fast, so as always, you’ll want to come early and have a glass of Texas vino.”
The cost is $10 per person and children under 16 are free. Winery tables and chairs are limited to 100 and go fast, so guests are encouraged to being lawn chairs. No outside beverages of any kind as the winery will be selling wine margaritas, sodas and water.
“If you have a camera, bring it! We want posts on Facebook/Twitter and YouTube,” Wales said. “Let’s introduce the world to JCD, Wales Manor and Texas music!”
