McKinney Christian Academy’s football team defeated Bay Area Christian 28-26 on Saturday in a thrilling ending to improve its record to 2-0. The Mustangs held strong on Bay Area’s two-point conversion pass attempt with 1:21 remaining on the clock to hold on to win.
Sky Walker led MCA with 224 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
The game was played at Prince of Peace Christian School in Carrollton.
Bay Area led 20-14 at halftime. The Mustang’s first-half points came on a 32-yard TD pass from Reese Shaw to Ben Bajema and a 9-yard run by Walker.
Neither team scored in the third quarter. In the fourth, MCA plowed ahead on a 31-yard TD pass from Shaw to Jamie Greenwell, as Caleb Wysong’s extra-point made it 21-20 MCA. The Mustangs later scored on a 1-yard run by Walker to lead 28-20.
