Members of the MOMS Club of McKinney-Central dressed their children in costumes during a visit to the McKinney Senior Recreation Center on Tuesday morning. MOMS Club kiddos have been trick-or-treating at the rec. center for more than 7 years. It is a highlight of the October activities calendar for both the seniors and the children.
Stephanie Corwin, MOMS Club Membership VP and rec. center volunteer, who coordinates the trick-or-treating event each year believes “this is important because it’s a win-win for everyone. The seniors talk about this for weeks before it happens. They’re so excited to see the kids and wear their own costumes. Some of them don’t have family nearby and don’t get so see their own grandkids often. The kids are comfortable because they feel like they’re visiting their own grandparents. This is a great opportunity for both groups.”
