Middle School Volleyball: Lionettes Face Prosper

The Dowell Lionettes eighth grade volleyball teams played some high energy points before the fall Thursday night against the Prosper Eagles.

The Blue “B” team lost momentum and ended with the loss in two, 13-25 and 12-25. Outstanding player was Brynn McConnell for offensive, Katie Wagner and Mikayla Kuehne for defensive players and Danielle Boggs for overall play.

The Gold “A” team played with the biggest heart before their loss in two, 25-27, 26-24 and 7-25. Overall defensive players were Jessie Searles and Carlie Kauffman for mad skills at the net, and outstanding offensive player was CeCe Clark for the turning point of the game and Lily Isbell for overall player of then game for her level of commitment and willingness to play any position with ease and effort.

Closing out the evening, the White “C” team hustled for the ball before their loss in two, 16-25 and 18-25. Outstanding all-around players for these matches were Alex Baldridge for offensive player, Sydney Miles for defensive player and Isabel Pate for overall player of the games.

Next set is against the Cockrill Cowgirls on November 8th at home, starting at 5 p.m. This is our parent night and our last home game of the season.

Dowell 7th Grade

The Lionettes’ Blue team won in two games to the Prosper Eagles, 25-20 and 25-17. Offensive player of the game was Peyton Hubbard for seven kills.  Defensive player was Olivia Kubes for great serve receive and digs.  Overall Player of the game was Georgiana Roeder for aggressive net play.

The Gold team won 25-18 and 28-26. Offensive player of the game was Danielle Doursharm for aggressive swings and serves. Defensive player was Katherine Uribe for consistent passing. Overall player of the game was Keely Andrews for strong serves, hustle and court management.

The White team won 25-21 and 25-12. Offensive player of the game was Alex Price for two kills.  Defensive player of the game was Leah Pate for solid passes.Overall player of the game was Haley Isbell for two aces.

The Lionettes’ next match will take place at Cockrill on Nov. 8. The Blue team will take the court first at 5 p.m., followed by the Gold and White teams.
