MHS Marquettes Win Big

The Marquettes represented McKinney High School very well and received the highest honor possible at the Danceline competition this Feb 26th, 2011. With over 21 high schools and 3 studios in competition, the students of MHS cleaned up and made a lasting impression on everyone.

  • Ashton Shawver was one of 7 solo finalists out of over 100 soloist. Jenny Jagours was placed in the top 5 in the technique challenge of leaps. Our elite group took first out of all competing large ensembles with their hip hop routine.
  • Our officers and team earned a sweepstakes award, scoring 90 or better from all judges for all routines entered.
  • Our team earned Danceline Gold, signifying that they scored 95 or better from every judge on every routine entered.
  • The team earned top score/best in category in novelty and hip hop. The team received the highest score in their category with their lyrical.
  •  Finally the McKinney Marquettes were named Grand Champions in the largest and most difficult division earning a trophy and a $500 scholarship to any Danceline competition.
