Melon Dash Participants Race Through The Square

By Sawyer Erickson, TSB Staff

McKinney’s Chestnut Square hosted runners young and old for The Melon Dash 5K on Saturday to benefit North Texas Cat Rescue.

An entire sponsor village was set up with live music, food and beer for runners and spectators alike. Preceding the official 5k race was a Fun Run geared towards children wanting to participate along side experienced runners.

All registered runners received a technical New Balance T-shirt with the race logo and sunglasses along with cool towels at the finish line.
