Thursday was the 36th annual Great American Smokeout, and in honor of this, Medical Center of McKinney has gone smoke-free! That’s right; we are a smoke-free campus and have taken a big step in improving the health of our workforce and community!
Being a smoke-free campus provides substantial benefits to our employees, patients, visitors and the community.
–Being smoke-free ensures that our employees are working in the safest, healthiest and most productive environment.
–As a hospital, we are setting an example of healthy behaviors by prohibiting smoking on our campus. A smoke-free environment sends the message that we are committed to the health of our employees, patients and community.
–Being smoke-free sets an example for the community to implement similar policies. It sets us apart as a community leader in our commitment to health and wellness.
Here at the Medical Center of McKinney, our number one priority is the safety and health of our patients, employees and the community. We are so excited to be a part of the 2011 Great American Smokeout and to make this important change on our campus.
