Medical Center of McKinney has appointed Scott Donaldson, MD, as the Chief Medical Officer. This new position will assist Medical Center of McKinney in continuing its commitment to clinical excellence.
“We are excited to have Dr. Donaldson’s medical leadership in this new position,” said Ernest C. Lynch, III, FACHE, CEO of Medical Center of McKinney. “He has been a vital member of our medical staff since 1989 and is a physician that other doctors in our medical community can look to for his clinical expertise and quality outcomes.”
The CMO brings the physician perspective to the senior leadership team on a consistent basis, and can articulate the hospital initiatives clinician to clinician.
“Dr. Donaldson will be a vital resource to the medical staff due to his experience in quality improvement, peer review and credentialing,” said Scott Robins, MD, CMO for HCA North Texas Division. “The CMO in partnership with the CNO represents the face of quality and safety inside the organization and community at large.
Dr. Donaldson, a pulmonologist, joined Medical Center of McKinney’s medical staff in 1989 and has served on numerous committees and boards including serving as the President of the Medical Staff and a Board of Trustee for the hospital. He is currently serving as the Medical Director for Critical Care and Therapy Services.
Dr. Donaldson was graduated from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and completed his residency in internal medicine through the University of Oklahoma. He completed his fellowship training in pulmonary and critical care at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. He is board certified in pulmonary disease, critical care and internal medicine.
