Veteran banker Matt McPhail has been named president of the LegacyTexas banking center located in downtown Grapevine. McPhail, who lives in Grapevine with his wife and two sons, has been a local banker for 15 years and joined LegacyTexas Bank in 2006 as a senior vice president and commercial lender. In his new role, McPhail will be responsible for day-to-day operations of the banking center, as well as the bank’s Grapevine loan portfolio.
“Matt McPhail is an outstanding young banker with deep roots in Grapevine and greater Northeast Tarrant County,” said Stan O’Neil, LegacyTexas Bank executive vice president and market president for Tarrant and Parker Counties. “His leadership, enthusiasm and tenure in the marketplace are valued assets to our bank and will serve the community well as he leads our team of experienced bankers in Grapevine.”
McPhail is equally excited about the challenges and opportunities of his new position.
“We have a great team here in Grapevine,” he said. “It has been our philosophy since I arrived here seven years ago to bring aboard the best local people and build our bank around them. We’ve been successful doing that. I look forward to continuing that tradition and helping make us the best bank for our community – hands down.”
McPhail will continue to be active in the Grapevine community through numerous local organizations including Grapevine AMBUCS and the Grapevine Heritage Foundation, where he currently serves on the membership development committee. He is a 1992 graduate of Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas and a 2012 graduate of the Southwest Graduate School of Banking at SMU.
The LegacyTexas Grapevine banking center is located at 900 South Main Street with an additional full-service lobby and motor bank at 750 West Dallas Road.
