McKinney’s NFL Hopefuls Fuller, Douglas Find Their Grooves while Radway Struggles in Preseason Week Two

By Mike Bruu, TSB Sports Writer

Former MISD footballs standouts David Douglas and Raymond Radway, both of McKinney North, and Jeff Fuller of McKinney Boyd are undrafted free agents hoping to make the squads of their respective NFL teams. Keep up with their progress right here on Town Square Buzz.

David Douglas, New York Giants

After sitting out week one of the preseason with a quad injury, Douglas was able to suit up and play against the New York Jets in the MetLife Bowl. The wide receiver, a former McKinney North Bulldog, caught one pass for 23 yards, the second longest pass play from scrimmage for New York. The Giants will host the Chicago Bears in the team’s third preseason game. Generally teams play their starters for almost three quarters in the true final tune-up game before the regular season, so Douglas’s playing time this week may not be much.

The Giants will host Chicago on Friday night. The game will begin at 7 p.m. and can be seen on CBS 11.

Jeff Fuller, Miami Dolphins

Maybe the release of Chad Johnson was more beneficial to the future of the former McKinney Boyd Bronco in making the Miami Dolphins than we originally thought. The wide receiver caught four passes for 38 yards, including a 20-yard pass from his college quarterback Ryan Tannehill in the second quarter. The Dolphins named Tannehill the starting quarterback this past weekend, so if Fuller is able to find a roster spot next week, the old Texas A&M QB-WR tandem will be back in full swing in South Beach.

The Carolina Panthers 23-17 defeated the Dolphins last Friday night. Miami will host the Atlanta Falcons on Friday night. Game time is 6:30 p.m.

Raymond Radway, Dallas Cowboys

The former McKinney North Bulldog did not catch a pass in the Cowboys 28-20 loss at San Diego on Saturday night. Radway, a wide receiver, had four passes come his way from the Cowboys third string quarterback Stephen McGee, but none of them were complete. The Cowboys have had some serious problems with the depth at receiver this camp, but the team may have found their guys in Cole Beasley and Dwayne Harris. This means the Radway will need to make the most of his snaps he is given in the team’s final two preseason games this month.

The Cowboys will finally come back to the Lone Star state after over a month in California. The team will host the St. Louis Rams on Saturday night at 7 p.m. The game will be shown on CBS 11.
