The McKinney City Council held its second budget retreat on Friday morning. On the agenda was a detailed breakdown and discussion of how the City spends its money and how it plans to spend its money in 2014.
City Manager Jason Gray briefed the council members about the city’s 2013 expenditures and the anticipated changes for the 2014 budget. Gray discussed the current budget proposal, which will most likely be adjusted, before the council approves the 2014 fiscal year budget on Sept. 30.
Gray told the council that the city will most likely need to add personnel for newly created positions across several departments. He told that the council that these additional personnel are necessary due to the continued growth of McKinney.
