The field of teams competing in the American Amateur Baseball Congress (AABC) Mickey Mantle World Series rounded into shape Monday, with the Ontario Blue Jays and McKinney-based Frozen Ropes- Prock announced as the final qualifying teams for the tournament.
Frozen Ropes–Prock defeated Frozen Ropes–Krog 8-2 in the South Plains Regional title game Saturday to advance to the Mickey Mantle World Series. The team, led by coach Ryan Prock, compiled a 36-13-1 record during the 2013 season and is the reigning AABC and South Plains Region Champions.
Frozen Ropes–Prock will begin play Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. against the Arizona Dodgers at Al Alford Field.
The North Atlantic Champion Ontario Blue Jays will take the field Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. against the East Cobb Titans.
The Mickey Mantle World Series begins Wednesday and will run through Aug. 4 at Al Alford Field in McKinney.
