Times have changed. Every woman needs potentially life saving self defense skills given the fact that every two minutes someone is sexually assaulted. The McKinney YMCA is partnering with North Texas Self Defense to provide an opportunity for women to learn self defense beginning Saturday, August 4.
According to North Texas Self Defense, in approximately 80% of attempted rape cases, women with self-defense training avoided sexual contact. The classes will be taught by a U.S. Marine Corp veteran, a criminologist, a former correctional officer and a police captain. Participants will learn to get our of dangerous situations, diffuse aggression, travel safely and, how to prevent abduction.
