McKinney Varsity Lacrosse celebrated Senior Night by honoring Tyler Simpkins as the sole outgoing senior.
Simkpkins is a starting D-Midfielder and team captain. McKinney snuck past Fort Worth Country Day School in a battle that found McKinney on top 8-7 and imrproved their district record to 3-4. It was an important win for the young McKinney team as they work their way into a playoff birth.
McKinney is currently the #5 seed in Texas’ North District and the top six clubs will make the playoffs which begin next week.
Brody Kovacs, Cameron Close and Johnny Santos all provided two goals in the contest along with single goal nights from Nick Creedon and Justin Lakey. Dalton Ortiz contributed two key assists and Connor Burke was solid in the cage once again.
McKinney takes on Greenhill School this Thursday in their final regular season game. Game time is 7 p.m. at Brinkman Field on the Greenhill campus.
