The City of McKinney in partnership with the Collin County Sheriff’s Office will participate in the national Drug Enforcement Administration’s Drug Take-Back event on Saturday, April 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event takes place at the City of McKinney Environmental Services Building,1550 S. College St. Building D. Directional signs will be located at intersections near the location.
This event provides participants an opportunity to safely dispose of all accumulated unwanted, unused or expired prescription drugs. The Drug Take-Back event aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposal, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of these medications. The service is free and anonymous.
Leave all medications in their original containers, but remove any identifying information from the prescription label. You can also dispose of medication by removing from the container and placing it directly in the disposal box. Intravenous solutions and syringes will not be accepted.
