McKinney will honor veterans with two ceremonies at the Veterans Memorial Park in McKinney for Veterans Day this year.
On Saturday, Nov. 9 at 11 a.m., officials and dignitaries will commemorate our country’s veterans during the Veterans Day Tribute. The public is invited as the City of McKinney honors the brave men and women who have served in the U.S. military.
Speakers at the event will include U.S. Congressmen Sam Johnson and McKinney Mayor Brian Loughmiller. The event will also include a missing man formation flyover and a performance of patriotic songs by the McKinney North High School choir.
On Veterans Day, Monday, Nov. 11, a sundown ceremony will be held beginning at sunset, which will include the reading of the names displayed on the Wall of Honor at the Veterans Memorial Park. An assembly bugle call will sound at 5:27 p.m., and the ceremony will last approximately 45 minutes.
The Veterans Memorial Park in McKinney features a Wall of Honor inscribed with names of Collin County service members who died in the line of duty, and the park honors all veterans. The Veterans Memorial Park is located at 6053 Weiskopf Ave. in Craig Ranch. Visitwww.mckinneytexas.org/
