The team that brought Fiddler on the Roof to life last summer will announce its 2014 production on Sunday, Dec 8. The public is invited to attend McKinney Summer Musicals’ annual benefit featuring a special reader’s theater production of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.
In addition to finding out the 2014 summer production, guests will enjoy the special performance, heavy hors d’oeuvres, a special holiday cake donated by Nothing Bundt Cakes, and wine (all included in the ticket price). Also, twenty jewelry boxes will be sold to those interested, one of which will contain a beautiful diamond necklace from Griffin Jewelry.

Adapted from Barbara Robinson’s classic book of the same name, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever is the heartwarming and hilarious story of the Herdmans—“the worst kids in the history of the world.” They lie, steal, smoke cigars, swear, and hit little kids. So no one is prepared when this outlaw family invades church one Sunday and decides to take over the annual Christmas pageant.
None of the Herdmans has ever heard the Christmas story before. Their interpretation of the tale has a lot of people up in arms. But it will make this year’s pageant the most unusual anyone has seen and, just possibly, the best one ever!
