McKinney Summer Musicals Reveals Next Two Shows

McKinney Summer Musicals isn’t just for summer anymore! In response to numerous requests for a multi-show season, MSM will be presenting a Side by Side by Sondheim in March 2014 as a prelude to its major summer production, Footloose in July.

Open auditions will be held for both shows:

SIDE BY SIDE BY SONDHEIM

From “Comedy Tonight” to “Send in the Clowns,” the songs in the highly acclaimed musical revue Side by Side by Sondheim are snapshots of the insight, sophistication, heart, wit, and genius of the music theater master, Stephen Sondheim. This tribute to Sondheim’s early work includes show-stopping classics written with musical theater giants Leonard Bernstein, Richard Rodgers, and Jule Styne: West Side Story, Do I Hear a Waltz?, and Gypsy.  Also included are numbers from some of Sondheim’s own landmark shows: Company, Follies, A Little Night Music, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, and Anyone Can Whistle.
