McKinney Summer Musicals prides itself on redefining community theatre. This year, MSM is redefining its annual Benefit fund-raiser by changing the event’s timing and venue.
Instead of hosting its usual February fundraiser, MSM is moving the festivities forward to Dec. 8 at 5:30 p.m. to give the community a chance to start celebrating the holidays early, MSM style. The new venue will be Gather, located at 207 E. Virginia Street in historic downtown McKinney. Even the entertainment will be a special treat: MSM adult cast members will perform a reader’s theater presentation of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever—a heartwarming and hilarious “show within a show,” arranged by Samuel French.
MSM Director Kevyn Robertson looks forward to attracting a larger audience with the new timing and location. “We have been blessed with so many gracious supporters who have opened their homes to us for our Benefits over the years,” Robertson said. “Gather will keep that same intimate atmosphere, while allowing us to host a larger crowd that can mingle more freely with our cast and crew.”
Tickets for the Benefit, which include the special performance, heavy hors d’oeuvres, coffee, and wine, are $75 per person. For ticket information, please contact Kari Kennedy Flowers at 214-564-7196 or click “Buy Tickets” on the MSM website: www.mckinneysummermusicals.com.
