The City of McKinney and McKinney Main Street were presented with four first-place awards for marketing and promotion during the annual Texas Festivals and Events Association (TFEA) conference in Houston. Those awards include:
Best TV Promotion – Bike the Bricks
Best Radio Promotion – Oktoberfest
Best T-shirt – Oktoberfest
Best Street Banner – Arts in Bloom
Each year, TFEA honors the brightest and best in the industry through its annual Marketing Awards Contest for Texas-based festival and event planners, volunteers and suppliers. Entries are submitted by festivals and events across the entire state of Texas and are judged by a panel of industry experts and awarded in more than 62 categories.
“We strive to continually host high quality events in downtown McKinney, and we are an outstanding example of how a community can work together to create events that enhance quality of life,” said Amy Rosenthal, Director of the McKinney Performing Arts Center and McKinney Main Street.
McKinney Main Street is a nonprofit organization with a mission to ensure downtown continues to be the vibrant, inviting and growing area it is known for today. Main Street partners with the city to host McKinney’s signature events like Arts in Bloom, Krewe of Barkus, Bike the Bricks, Oktoberfest, Scare on the Square and Home for the Holidays – A McKinney Christmas, which draw thousands of residents annually as well as visitors from outside the city.
