vigil-16McKinney North High School was the somber setting for a candlelight vigil Monday night honoring and remembering the life of 17-year-old Cody Hensley. The driver, Joshua Bartlet, 19, and four other passengers were hospitalized after sustaining injuries ranging from minor to critical.vigil-17

Hundreds of friends, family and peers gathered wearing camouflage after the hashtag #CamoforCody was created as a nod to the life of Hensley. Friends remember Cody walking the halls of McKinney North High School wearing cowboy boots, loving McDonalds and having a talent for noodling (catching catfish). McKinney North brought extra counselors in to offer support to students and staff.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
