McKinney North High School was the somber setting for a candlelight vigil Monday night honoring and remembering the life of 17-year-old Cody Hensley. Hensley and Stephen Chaney of Princeton were confirmed dead after their car lost control on a Princeton road early Sunday morning. The driver, Joshua Bartlet, 19, and four other passengers were hospitalized after sustaining injuries ranging from minor to critical.
Hundreds of friends, family and peers gathered wearing camouflage after the hashtag #CamoforCody was created as a nod to the life of Hensley. Friends remember Cody walking the halls of McKinney North High School wearing cowboy boots, loving McDonalds and having a talent for noodling (catching catfish). McKinney North brought extra counselors in to offer support to students and staff.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
